About the adidas Stan Smith

About the adidas Stan Smith

Made in 1964 as tennis sneakers, these adidas were initially called Robert Haillet, like the French player. This iconic model is equipped with a rubber sole and an upper where the three-striped logo switch to side perforations for higher breathability. In 1971, they were renamed Stan Smith, to honor the number one tennis player of the time. The silhouette was updated by adding a rubber reinforcement on the heel. The name and persona of that tennis player became popular in the 80s and currently the Smith are considered one of the history best-selling model by adidas.
