About the adidas Stan Smith

About the adidas Stan Smith

Sold for the first time in 1964 as tennis footwear, these adidas were initially known as the Robert Haillet, like the French player. This model comes with a rubber sole and an upper where the three-striped logo switch to perforations to improve feet transpiration. In 1971, their name was changed to Stan Smith, to honor the number one tennis player of the year. The sneaker was renewed by adding a rubber reinforcement on the heel. The name and persona of that tennis player became popular in the 80s and currently the Smith are considered one of the most renowned, best-selling model of the three-striped brand.
