ASICS Tiger Gel-Lyte III

ASICS Tiger Gel-Lyte III

In 1990, the ASICS Gel Lyte III was released for the first time in Japan. Three years earlier, a first model introduced the GEL technology, which provided great cushioning. The Gel-Lyte 3 silhouette has an EVA midsole that includes a new GEL layer and a split tongue for better fixation. The colorways of Shigeyuki Mitsui's OG design were inspired by the hip-hop culture and, more than 25 years later, these sneakers are still an essential of the sneaker culture.

Technological Features

Midsole EVA

The EVA rubber is a light, soft and flexible material which can be found in the midsole of retro-running and lifestyle sneakers, and is used as a cushioning system, in order to avoid harsh impacts after every step. The EVA terms stands for the material's technical name, ethylene-vinyl acetate.

Split tongue

The split tongue remains a unmistakable element of the ASICS Tiger Gel Lyte 3 models. This technology perfects the adjustment of the shoe to your feet and avoids the upsetting movement of the classic tongues from side to side.

GEL Cushioning

GEL gives name to a technology by the brand ASICS Tiger based on silicone material small plates that we can find in the front part and on the back of the shoes. GEL system distributes the energy in multiple directions, minimizing the pression of every impact and providing firmness to your feet.
