It was the year of 1979, when adidas became one of the pioneering brands of running. Hand in hand with Adi Dassler, the founder of the company, the German firm launched the adidas Marathon. It was a new silhouette that left behind urban sights, and was presented as the preferred option for the most daring and adventurous - those who chose to escape from congested metropolitan centers, and began to run through the most remote places in the world.

Today times have changed, and we are more connected than ever. There is a constant search for new experiences; experiences we can share with others on our favorite social networks. We roam around looking for the best photographic sceneries, and we travel through the many avenues across the world in search of adventure and fun.

Under this philosophy, adidas launched its latest big bet, the Deerupt. A sneaker that is self-defined by just its name, uniting the terms 'disrupt' and 'erupt'. In the words of Oddbjorn Stavseng, Global Senior Design Director of adidas, the company had in mind from the initial phases of design they wanted to create a sneaker that had the ideal profile to be able to share through social networks.

As a result of this premise, the adidas Deerupt Consortium arrives to the market. It is a special edition of this brand new, "picture perfect" silhouette with an upper that alternates between white and grey to maintain the ideal profile for the upcoming spring months. Thus, it comes full circle from a journey which started in the late 70's with the adidas Marathon, while preserving the essence of the adidas archive and adapting it to the current time and needs. The adidas Deerupt Consortium is a silhouette inspired by urban, contemporary architecture, and the most cosmopolitan environments on this planet with minimalism utilized as the central idea of design.
