AND WANDER, WHERE CITY AND COUNTRYSIDE MEET

and wander’s story is born out of its creators’ backgrounds. Keita Ikeuchi and Mihoko Mori trained themselves working for Issey Miyake but they craved for a product that could allow them to work uninterrupted between the countryside and the city.

Founded in 2011 in Tokyo, and wander doesn’t see the difference between streetwear and outdoor products. Understood as the technological evolution of the Americana style and mountaineering culture, and wander designs its products with nature in mind in the easiest way possible. It avoids technological artifice, but know when using them is necessary. It’s not about conquering the most dangerous mountains, it’s about spending time in nature, breaking the line that normally separates fashion from mountaineering products.

Unisex items that distinguish their performance level through a label that shows one, two or three mountains depending on the requirements for their usage, that go from the lightest of walks to the toughest of conditions. Practical accessories and technical fabrics like Polartec or Primaloft, colours that you’d never expect for mountaineering products or backpacks that are incredibly useful for the city.

Relying on a flourishing Japanese subculture associated to outdoor products, and wander isn’t built around performance but on its only objective of wandering around nature (that’s where their enigmatic name comes from). They design just minutes away from the busiest street crossing in the world, but they’re always thinking on the loneliest of sceneries.

A versatility inspired on streetwear but also on Japanese traditions like Tenkara (the art of fishing) or Hanami (observing flowers); and wander is born where city and countryside meet.
