Meant To Fly: Jordan 5 Retro "White Cement"

Since the first Jordan released in 1985, references to flights in the brand's advertising campaigns have been very common. Do you remember the commercial spot of the Air Jordan 1? It featured Michael Jordan jumping with the background sound of a plane taking off.

From 1989 references to flights became even clearer: on the tongue of the Air Jordan 4 one can read the word Flight, the name of a Nike collection created for those who spent more time in the air.

The Air Jordan 5 went one step further in 1990: designed by the great Tinker Hatfield, this silhouette was inspired by the Mustang, a fighter aircraft of World War II. Hatfield used the aggressive and sweeping look of these airplanes to create a parallelism with MJ's playing style on the court.

Inspired by one of Jordan IV's original colorways, the Jordan 5 Retro "White Cement" features a white leather upper, reflective tongue in black and red colors, and cement-tone details on the eyelets and midsole.

One of our favorite Jordan silhouettes with the iconic "White / Cement" colorway? Yes! We will have them on sale online and in-store in Barcelona on Saturday 5th of August. Who said man was not meant to fly?
