KAPPA: The Rebirth

Are two piece jumpsuits the look you love to hate? Usually kept hidden for lazy Sundays, now they're back - big time. Emerging from the ashes this Fall/Winter, Kappa presents its Kappa Kontroll collection, inspired by their iconic advertising campaign, "LIKE NO OTHER". In this graphic-inspired collection, the maxi logo returns in all key pieces, as minimalism has given way to bigger, bolder looks.

This isn't the first time we've seen the "Kontroll" label either. As part of their maiden high-end collection in SS17, Kappa brought a style back that has been in existence since the brand was originally created, back in 1956. At that time, Maglificio Calzificio Torinese designed socks and underwear for Aquila, an established brand since the 1920's. Unfortunately, the brand had to be renamed after a defective batch of socks caused the company reputation to be called into question. Keen to keep customers onside, the president of Aquila distributed new socks, with a distinctive K for "Kontroll", as a mark of ensured quality. The socks were a raging success, causing the demand for 'the socks with the K' to soar.

60 years later, the first "Kappa Kontroll" collection arrives to retailers all over the world. Recently, Kappa have been a somewhat sleeping giant. With their previous global presence diminished, after some of the largest football clubs in the world now opting for mega-contracts from some of the more famous and well-known brands, Kappa are back in the limelight, more desirable than ever.
