Designed by Bill Bowerman, an Olympic track coach, the Nike Cortez was released in 1972 to give runners a more comfortable and lightweight running shoe. Due to its huge success after the release, this shoe made a difference in the history of Nike. Nowadays, the Cortez is a retro-running gem used as a casual sneaker. This silhouette is available at SVD in a wide variety of colors and materials.

  • Nike Cortez, Hollywood's sneaker

White, red, black, pink, made of leather or nylon...and of course for either men or women, the truth is that the Nike Cortez can boast of being one of the most adapted in the history of the Oregan based brand. Born out of the need ot manufacture running shoes for non-professional athletes, this silhouette has managed to conform to the constant changes needed by runners from several generations. Today, the Cortez is a cult shoe that has appeared in lyrics to songs like those of Kendrick Lamar, as well as in films like Forrest Gump, or gracing the feet of the late, great Whitney Houston during her famous Super Bowl half-time performance.
