Cortez

Cortez

A model that does not go out of style. The Nike Cortez was created with the intention of becoming an athletic shoe in the 70s, during the boom of the hippie movement and the running. Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman were inspired by a flip-flop model to launch the first Nike Cortez, a lightweight and comfortable trainer that soon began to be used in daily activities. Although the model has undergone variations of color, sole and fabric, the current design is practically identical to the original one.

Midsole EVA

The EVA rubber is a light, soft and flexible material which can be found in the midsole of retro-running and lifestyle sneakers, and is used as a cushioning system, in order to avoid harsh impacts after every step. The EVA terms stands for the material's technical name, ethylene-vinyl acetate.
