The origins of Puma

For those who were not yet aware, Puma shares its history with another great trainer brand, adidas. It all began with the Dassler brothers, Rudolf and Adolf, who opened their own trainer factory in 1919 in the town of Herzogenaurach, Germany. Despite the competition in the area at the time, the Dassler models came out on top, captivating world-class athletes who won gold and bronze medals at the Olympic Games in 1928 and 1936 wearing the Dassler shoes. Twenty-eight years later, the brothers separated and founded their own respective companies, which led to the creation of Adolf's adidas and RUDA, which became PUMA in 1948. Since then, the brand has achieved major achievements, becoming a benchmark in sports and lifestyle thanks to its vast history: from its first football models with curved traction studs, to the innovative next-generation Puma Velophasis, to collaborations with artists, designers and the most recognised global brands, such as Puma x Dua Lipa, Puma x Palomo, Puma x Vogue... and many more!
