This season adidas extends the spirit of Consortium by remembering the history of some of the most historic models and the vision of creators like Jacques Chassaing, who’s responsible for the Torsion system, the Zx series or the first EQT. The first one is an approach of the adidas Lexicon, a marvel of the innovation from the nineties.
ADIDAS CONSORTIUM LXCON RETRIEVES THE LINES FROM THE NINETIES
Up until now, adidas Consortium was based on the concept of collaborating with some of the most prestigious names in the worlds of design, music or the best stores in the world. “The respect is mutual” is like a motto that suggests that creation is like a process of alliances.
The new adidas Consortium LXCON 94 OG edition diligently respects the shapes and particularities of the original one; adiPRENE cushioning, the Torsion System to guarantee stability or the green detail in the sole’s interior that works as a nod to the EQT saga. In the cut, the different purple tones, the big-sized three stripes and the combination of layers superimposed in mesh, leather and fabric keep with the aesthetic even though they’re updated following modern manufacturing processes. The most identifying element of the then called Lexicon was a translucent cable that went around the sneaker to distribute its tension forces. In true adidas fashion, instead of decorating it with bright colours, the cable remains almost hidden and it has served as a base for the new interpretations, the LX CON Future.
The adidas Consortium LXCON OG is a true reproduction of the 1994 model, it’s the first of a series of launches that celebrate the history of the Torsion system, designed in 1988 by Jacques Chassaing.
