Cover of Thrasher, consistent appearances in Love ( Judd Apatow’s Netflix show) a regular in Supreme’s lookbooks and with his own collections along with Vans or adidas, Jason Dill’s presence in the list of the most influential skaters in history comes as no surprise. But nobody could have suspected it when he discovered skateboarding with Ed Templeton.
FUCKING AWESOME, ANALOGUE REBELLIOUSNESS

Magnetic, eccentric, unique. These are the adjectives that are usually spoken when talking about Fucking Awesome, but they also work when talking about its founder, Jason Dill. A guy who has been able to create not only a brand but a halo of influence that goes beyond its original universe of skateboarding.
It is the typical case of a teenager surrounded by an uninspiring environment, Jason Dill got tired of Huntington Beach when he discovered the New York scene, just when Supreme had become the meeting point of the skater community. It was the nineties, in the times of Kids, wild videos and a city that maintained a style that was just as shameless as it was dangerous. The perfect environment for Jason Dill.

His NYC days acted as a way for him to become one of the sculptors of Supreme’s spirit, but they also turned him away from the skateboard feeding the legend of an eccentric and free individual. Fucking Awesome is born from the idea of creating a company based on counterculture, supported by the work of filmmaker Mike Piscitelli. During its first years, the brand was moving around an environment that was as ever-changing as Jason Dill’s.
In 2013, after Dill’s comeback to Los Angeles, Anthony Van Engelen joins Fucking Awesome, he used to be Dill’s roommate, and from there a cascade of references in the current skater scene; Na-Kel Smith, Elijah Berle, Tyshawn Jones, Sean Pablo or Dylan Rieder who passed away.
Jason Dill defines Fucking Awesome as a business of ideas, collages that work as storage for analogue quotes. Without any specific seasons, they only release new products when they get new ideas; childhood photos of their riders, messianic references or Chloë Sevigny as inspiration for an irreverent and wild brand.
