Vault by Vans x Fergus "Fergadelic" Purcell

The story of Fergus “Fergadelic” Purcell is that of a man whose art takes precedence and is always at the forefront. Although the man behind the art is relatively unknown, he has managed to develop his career not only on his own, but also through collaborations with some of the best luxury and streetwear brands.

An alumni of Central Saint Martins, his artistic development grew in social circles like Slam City Skates, a shop that in the late eighties and early nineties, became the epicenter of London culture. Not only could it be accredited to creating a whole new style, but bringing together a powerful network of influential profiles for decades to come. Even now, three decades later, many of those same profiles have evolved into some of the main players in fashion and art.

It was from there Holmes and Silas were born, two brands Purcell created together with Sofia Prantera, his current partner at Aries Arise; a perfect example of work that blends the spirit of DIY, pop art, trash and science fiction. In parallel, he’s also done illustrations for brands like Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Palace, and a new collection together with Vault by Vans.

Starting with historical Vans silhouettes like the Authentic and Chukka, featuring handmade chunky sole and original panels, Fergadelic has created a print inspired by the bewildering array of neighborhood shops and eighties acid wash styles.

The Vault by Vans x Fergus Purcell collection is complemented by garments that give the artist an opportunity to tell an immersive story of neighborhood shops.
